“Our poll workers won’t let this thing go.”
During my time as St. Louis Elections Director, I witnessed firsthand the dedication of poll workers who arrive before dawn, work 18+ hour days, and face the scrutiny of voters, observers, and sometimes the media. These civic-minded individuals are the backbone of our democratic process, yet they often receive little recognition for their essential work.
Election workers are truly on the front lines, feeling the pressure from long lines, complex procedures, and heightened public attention. They’re doing their civic duty with little recognition, often in increasingly difficult circumstances with growing scrutiny. I’ve seen the stress in their faces when lines grow long, when procedures change last-minute, or when they can’t quickly find a voter in a paper poll book.
When we designed Poll Pad – America’s most trusted poll book and the first to receive Election Assistance Commission (EAC) Certification – we created it specifically for these dedicated individuals.
I understood from my years managing elections that many poll workers might be intimidated by complex technology. That’s why we built Poll Pad to be intuitive with simple interfaces rather than intimidating processes. This same philosophy extends throughout our entire product suite, including:
• Poll Print – Our on-demand ballot printing system designed with the same simplicity and usability
• Total Vote – Our comprehensive election management, voter registration and election night reporting system
The best part? When poll workers have the right tools, voters benefit too.
The number one deterrent for a voter is a line. They want to do their civic duty, but they need to get in and out as quickly as possible. In today’s busy world, asking someone to wait an hour to vote might mean they don’t vote at all. Our integrated technology solutions help solve that problem by dramatically reducing check-in times and streamlining the entire voting process.
